Olaf shared with me a joint of simply perfect sativa (while he did not know the exact strain). When I'm traveling, I'm always trying to make new friends. This time I did it on my first evening in Asuncion, I met Olaf. He relocated to Asuncion two years ago. As I'm a lucky man - Olaf was a good rasta guy and loved weed as much as I am. He shared a joint with me and some points about the local dealers. For the beginning he calmed me down by saying that despite the fact that cannabis is strictly controlled by law and prohibited in Asuncion - police are not so straight at this.

But what if you get caught with weed in your pocket in Asuncion?

According to Olaf - if you have not more than 10g of weed or 5g of hash and you are not doing any other bad things in public - cops should not punish you. They should just ensure you are not a dealer who sells stuff, and after a short talk should leave you alone and just confiscate your stuff (to smoke it themselves haha).

There are some stories about dirty cops who try to get a bribe from tourists with weed in Asuncion, but these stories are rare, also better not to do this cause you may be arrested for this as a separate crime.
