Marijuana in Busan, South Korea - my experience

Howdy, go-getters 🤝My greetings to you in my long topic about my experience with weed in _CITY_ based on my adventures and the stories of local friends.

There is a well known fact that the laws according to the usage of marijuana differs from city to city. Based on that fact I've decided to write this article to let you know the rules of interaction with weed and hash in Busan , tell you about the police attention, possibility to find good hash, the price’s politics and all underwater rocks connected with the drugs in Busan.

My trip to Busan is over, these 10 days were perfect, so while memory is fresh I decided to write this post, who knows may be useful to someone. Being a regular cannabis smoker I could not imagine my stay in Busan without some daily joints. So from the very first day of my stay I started looking for weed…

Attitude of locals to cannabis in Busan

Even though high THC cannabis is strictly regulated in Busan - local inhabitants of Busan are not against it at all. Young people and tourists are top target audiences for weed dealers. This does not mean you may walk and smoke joints on the streets, but also no one will be too surprised seeing someone smoking weed.

As Steve told - even local cops in Busan sometimes use cannabis. So in general we may conclude that the atmosphere in Busan is relaxed when we speak about cannabis. Just behave correctly and watch your back - and everything should be cool.

Steve shared with me a small joint of some unknown indica strain that evening, this was exactly what I needed. We were a little bit drunk and were smoking near my hotel directly on the street near trash containers, and it seems I saw other guys doing the same on the opposite side of the street.

One joint is good - but I needed weed for the whole period of my stay in Busan , so asked Steve if he could share contacts of his cannabis dealer. The answer was negative, simply because his dealer did not accept new people. But as we became close after the joint - Steve agreed to become my dealer for the nearest days, so all my issues with weed were resolved, thanks to Steve!

Cannabis laws in Busan, South Korea

You can probably guess that distribution of non-medical cannabis is strictly forbidden and regulated by laws of South Korea, so you can not purchase high THC weed in some official shops like you may do in the Netherlands for example.

On my very first day in Busan I got acquainted with Steve who has lived here for 3 years already and who is also a regular cannabis smoker. He shared a joint with me and told some stories. As he told that despite non-medical weed being prohibited - cops are relaxed and calm in everything related to cannabis, with some rare exceptions.

But what if you get caught with weed in your pocket in Busan?

According to Steve - if you have not more than 10g of weed or 5g of hash and you are not doing any other bad things in public - cops should not punish you. They should just ensure you are not a dealer who sells stuff, and after a short talk should leave you alone and just confiscate your stuff (to smoke it themselves haha).

There are some stories about dirty cops who try to get a bribe from tourists with weed in Busan, but these stories are rare, also better not to do this cause you may be arrested for this as a separate crime. Easier just to watch you back and not to walk with large amounts of weed in your pockets.

Points to find the weed in Busan

During the time Steve had been my dealer (it was the solving of all my issues) he was telling me about how the things were going in Busan.

High rated providers in Busan buy the cannabis on darknet websites that maintain gross orders. These orders can contain a big amount of weed and hash, kilograms I think. Some websites work on small orders too, so if you are close to Tor browser working and know how to .onion sites doing - glance on thehiddenwiki.com, wait for a couple of days and get your package. This site has all the information needed about darknet.

If you are the person who doesn't want to wait or you vacation in Busan is too short for waiting, only the local dealer can save your time and help with weed. Of course, you can just use the familiar way many people find it to wander around the city looking for a stranger who can offer you a small variety of joints for cash. But I think it's not the best manner to waste your time in Busan. In our time almost all sellers work online and use cryptocurrency, so walking around the streets may not bring you any results. Now the way of buying cannabis has become more convenient - you get some contact of a dealer, write to him via messenger, choose what you want to buy, pay via crypto and get the delivery to a hotel or previously discussed place. If you don't know any contact of a dealer just ask some barmans or just use google. One more point you should notice that dealers try not to have a personal meeting with the buyer, so the package of weed is just placed in the previously discussed place and you get the photo and GPS tag of the exact place of your purchase.

I was really surprised because I was totally sure that “cash rules the roost”. But now when you can easily convert cryptocurrency to real cash and this point excludes personal meetings thereby, cash started to lose their positions in the drug business. Steve also advised me if you are not familiar with the crypto world, just ask your friends. He was totally sure that everyone nowadays has at least one friend who is close to the crypto and likes smoking as well. So you can just ask him to make the transaction for you. It is absolutely safe for both sides.
