Marijuana in Stuttgart, Germany - my experience

Howdy, go-getters 🤝My greetings to you in my long topic about my experience with weed in _CITY_ based on my adventures and the stories of local friends.

There is a well known fact that the laws according to the usage of marijuana differs from city to city. Based on that fact I've decided to write this article to let you know the rules of interaction with weed and hash in Stuttgart , tell you about the police attention, possibility to find good hash, the price’s politics and all underwater rocks connected with the drugs in Stuttgart.

My trip to Stuttgart is over, these 10 days were perfect, so while memory is fresh I decided to write this post, who knows may be useful to someone. Being a regular cannabis smoker I could not imagine my stay in Stuttgart without some daily joints. So from the very first day of my stay I started looking for weed…

Cannabis laws in Stuttgart, Germany

It is important to note that cannabis, weed, and hash are prohibited in Stuttgart. You can not officially purchase marijuana strains with high THC concentration in some coffee shops like in Amsterdam. Medical CBD cannabis may be available for purchase at dispensaries, but a prescription from a doctor is required, and you will never get high with CBD.

In one sports bar I got acquainted with Olaf who moved to Stuttgart 3 years ago, so he knows the local drug scene. According to Olaf - despite cannabis being banned according to laws, cops are generally relaxed about weed, sometimes being smokers themselves.

But what if you get caught with weed in your pocket in Stuttgart?

According to Olaf - if you have not more than 10g of weed or 5g of hash and you are not doing any other bad things in public - cops should not punish you. They should just ensure you are not a dealer who sells stuff, and after a short talk should leave you alone and just confiscate your stuff (to smoke it themselves haha).

There are some stories about dirty cops who try to get a bribe from tourists with weed in Stuttgart, but these stories are rare, also better not to do this cause you may be arrested for this as a separate crime. Easier just to watch you back and not to walk with large amounts of weed in your pockets.

So where do smokers purchase weed in Stuttgart?

Despite the fact that I did not have any problems with weed in Stuttgart because of Olaf, he told me how everything works (and not only with cannabis).

Usually high-level dealers purchase stuff on wholesale darknet websites. Theoretically you may also go through all the nightmare of using darknet websites to get your stuff delivered in several days or even weeks. Website thehiddenwiki.com has all the links you may need to order stuff in the darknet using Tor browser and crypto, but this method usually works if you need a lot of stuff and have time (several days) to wait for the delivery.

But if you have a short trip to Stuttgart or vacation + need not too much weed and right now - only small local dealers may help you. Walking dark streets in a search for a strange-looking person who will sell you something that looks like weed for cash is still an option, but this is not the best way to spend time in Stuttgart and does not guarantee you any success. Today almost all dealers went online already, so they arrange the delivery of stuff after taking crypto instead of cash. They try to avoid meetings in person so you just select the approximate drop off point, and get a photo where exactly to take your stuff after the delivery. Stuff is usually masked and looks not suspicious (may be a pack of juice or cigarettes you just take and continue walking).

I was surprised, really. Looks like I am too oldschool already - thought cash rules the world. While nowadays you may anonymously exchange crypto to cash - so for all illegal payments this became option #1. So now the dealing process looks like this - you find some messenger contacts of a local dealer (ask google or local barman), contact him and choose what you want to order, pay in crypto and get your stuff delivered to some pre-selected place (that may be your hotel). Personal meetings are something dealers try to avoid - so weed is usually dropped at some approximate point you firstly discuss, and you get photo and GPS coordinates where to take your package after delivery.

Perception of Cannabis Among Residents of Stuttgart

It's worth noting that high-THC non-medical cannabis isn't officially available for purchase in licensed cannabis stores in Stuttgart, but that doesn't mean the locals are strongly opposed to it 😃. It's primarily the younger crowd and students who openly enjoy cannabis and are open to welcoming new enthusiasts into their social circles. They consider a couple of joints an essential part of a good party, although it might be a bit challenging to fit in if you happen to be over 25.

In general, indulging in the random joint after a long workweek is a cherished tradition among many residents of Stuttgart. People tend to be tolerant, so there's no need to worry about judgment when it comes to your cannabis consumption. However, it's advisable to avoid doing so in public to avoid unnecessary attention.

We were a little drunk already when Olaf offered a joint of some noname sativa strain, of course I agreed. We were smoking not far from my hotel and it seems I saw other guys doing the same near another cornet 🙂So may say locals are not against weed, I saw this myself.

I liked the weed Olaf shared, not the best one I’ve ever tried, but good enough. So I asked Olaf to share contacts of his dealer, while he refused telling me his dealer works only with an old trusted set of clients. So I simply asked Olaf if he could be my dealer during the nearest days - he agreed. I wish everyone to find his own Olaf in Stuttgart🙂

Interesting facts about weed

1 - Weed Was The First Online Sale
Of course, it was illegal back then. In the early 1970s, Stanford students bought a bag of weed from MIT students. This means that the first product ever sold online was cannabis!

2 - You Can Eat Cannabis Raw
Granted, it tastes a lot better when prepared with yummy edibles like brownies, bread, or cake. But cannabis can be consumed raw. One more thing is that if you eat it raw, it won’t get you high, but it will provide you with all the medicinal benefits.

3 - Not All Weed Gets You High
You read that right. THC is not the same as CBD, which means that the type you choose to consume will have different effects on your body. One will provide all the relaxing and medicinal benefits, while the other will provide the psychoactive effects of the high.

4 - California Banned First
A century ago, California was the first state in the United States to ban cannabis. This is a bit ironic when we look at the fun fact above. But it looks like Cali learned its lesson!

5 - Weed Is Beer’s Cousin!
Beer hops are in the same family of flowering plants as cannabis. We thought the plants looked similar… and now we know why.
